' Scratching the itch can make the radio louder." Noise pioneers The Haters returns to performing after a long hiatus. They will debut a new piece involving amplified radios.
Sound/performance artist Gil Kuno will perform Radiologic, a piece that was showcased at Ars Electronica this summer. Kuno will use a dozen radios to tune into the LA radio waves and create a unique audio portrait of the city. Amanda Siegel, the diva of crusty video art will provide visuals.
Mathematician and noise guru from Wroclaw, Poland, Robert Lisek will use radioactive materials to perform "Bafomet's Star." The project uses an electromagnetic spectrum, radiation, and a geiger counter to create "true randomness." The values are translated into sound and light via Lisek's proprietary system. The performance is a ritual; a recombinant ceremony of "The SS" written by British occultist Aleister Crowley.
The duo GX Jupitter-Larsen + Gil Kuno will perform Aerosol, a generative audio visual piece that has been shown in high profile museums and galleries such as the Hammer Museum and LACE. '
